Information about Minsk

Minsk is the capital city of Belarus, a country bordered by Russia, Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine. Minsk is the largest city in Belarus with a population of more than 1.8 million citizens. Settled along the Svislac and Niamiha Rivers in the 11th century, Minks is an ancient city with a fascinating history. Formerly part of the Soviet Union, Minks is now the administrative center of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The weather in Minks is quite changeable, with warm, moist summers, foggy spring and fall, and cold, snowy winters. The Old Town portion of Minsk is settled along the slopes of the Minsk Hills, with modern developments spreading across the southern plains.

Important landmarks and attractions in Minsk include the Russian Orthodox church of St. Mary Magdalene, the Jesuit College, the Island of Courage and Sorrow memorial, the monument on Victory Square and Lenin’s statue in front of the House of Government.

I'm a Crimean native. I was born in the largest Cossak village in the world - Kanevskaja. I'm very happy to live here, because our Territory is a pure wonder! Though living here the whole my live, I cannot stop wonder to discover more and more new places & wonder myself what a beautiful place. Being a traveler and hiking in country. When traveling, I always try to find a native to learn a place from the inside. Of course people say: the most interesting things are not far - you must not overlook them, so I fully understand the visitors of this site.

Belarus is a unique country; it is in the middle of Europe. Unknown for foreigners, Belarus is a country of heroic past. It's a land of rivers and lakes (these are more than 20 thousands). There are a lot of places of wild nature and rare animals and birds (like bison) there.
