COMMENTS ABOUT Colombia:

Situated in the northernmost part of South America, Colombia is the only country on the continent with coastlines on both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Climates range from tropical along the coast and eastern plains to cooler temperatures in the highlands of the Andes Mountains, so pack accordingly depending on your destination and the time of year. The dry seasons stretch from December to March and then July to August.

There are tons of things to see and do in Columbia. If you are enchanted by local cultures and history, many enjoy the colonial city of Caragena. The Carmen Church and museums of Bogota’s bustling cosmopolitan life are other memorable sites. But Bogota is situated high in the Andes Mountains, so you may have to adjust to the altitude. Another prime city to visit is Santa Marta. Take a walking tour of the city and see such attractions as the Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino. Wildlife isn’t far off either. As you walk, look out for the large iguanas walking along the paths. This will certainly give you a wonderful blend of nature and the historic local culture.

If beaches and water sports are more your style, spend an evening or three relaxing on the sandy beaches of Tayrona National Park. Not far away, fishing fans can spend some time angling on a guided boat tour in Taganga.

Colombia is rich in culture and a popular spot for tourists, so set your destination and enjoy a tour designed with you in mind through Private Guides.
