Lisbon Attractions: What to See and Do in Autumn
Lisbon in autumn is a fantastic choice in vacation destinations! The temperatures are very comfortable and ideal for travelers to make the most of theirs treks. September offers warm days with plenty of sunshine.
October becomes a bit cooler, while November although having more rainfall, still boasts pleasant weather. Cuisine in Lisbon is delicious and known for chicken dishes, an array of seafood, and mouth-watering desserts. The autumn activities available in Lisbon are numerous and enjoyable. With so much culture in addition to lovely beaches situated a mere 20 minutes from the city, Lisbon is an ideal destination. For music lovers there is the Out Jazz Festival which runs up until September 29th each year.
The festival consists of outdoor jazz concerts located across the gardens of Lisbon and is absolutely fabulous to attend. Guests who have a flare for fashion are drawn to the Schiap Shock which is showcased until late October. It displays works by the surrealist fashion designer named Elsa Schiaparelli. An exhibit that is interesting and fun is the Objet Prefere.
This happening runs all the way from September 5th through January 26th. Here, visitors can view a spectrum of objects and decide which ones are their favorites. An interesting an educational architectural exhibition is the Islamic Heritage in Portugal, Castelo de Sao Jorge. This display can be viewed from September 6th through January 6th and offers insight into the history of Islamic architecture in Portugal. This exhibit encompasses remarkable relics that date back to the 9th century. Providing further historical information, Lisbon offers the Casa-Museu Medeiros e Almeida, Chins and Ta Xi Yang Guo exhibition from September 27th through December 31th. This impressive museum exhibition at the Medeiros e Almeida museum honors the 500th anniversary of the first Portuguese to arrive in China.
For tourists who are partial to film festivals, Lisbon is proud to hold Doclisboa, an international documentary festival that runs October 24th through November 3rd and shows interesting films from all over the world.
