Yes, you have the chance to visit one of very few left in Bulgaria medieval fortresses - Tsarevets hill in what used to be the capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom - Veliko Tarnovo! Situated on a hill surrounded by the Yantra river, Tsarevets is possibly one of the best places for you to learn the rich and proud history of the Bulgarian Empire during the 12th, 13th and 14th centuries!

Veliko Tarnovo is one of the most spectacular cities in Bulgaria and a visit to the nearby village of Arbanassi is included. What is to be discovered there - just wait! We will start from yout hotel and hit the main road to Veliko Turnovo. On our route we will drive through small townd and picturescue villages, while enjoing the landscape and scenery. At arrival we will enter the late 12th century fortress - Tzarevgrad Turnov - the capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. There you will see the throne hall, will enter into the Patriarch's palace church and looking at the modern murals will learn in brief the whole history of Bulgaria, following the sumbolic paintings from 1985.

After Tsarevets we will go to the village of Arbanassi - an ethnographical reserve, with seven Orthodox churches.
