Hello fellow traveller!

I’m delighted you decided to visit my home country of Croatia and my native island of Hvar! Croatia known as a country of 1000 islands (1244 to be exact), and the island of Hvar, as the most popular and the most visited, and the most beautiful (in my humble opinion) out of all of them!
And Conde Nast Traveller agrees, and considers Hvar to be one of the top 10 islands in Europe.

My name is Marija, I grew up in Hvar, and both of my parents are native to the island, so I grew up listening to stories about locals, history, local legends and life before the expansion of tourism.
I studied Economics at the University in Split, and lived and worked abroad for a year, specifically in Ireland. Which, as an islander, I especially loved. I enjoyed the busy towns and lush nature, but it made me appreciate my home town even more. Fun fact: did you know that the small island of Hvar has more species of plants than the whole of Ireland?

As a native of the sunniest island in Europe, I really craved the sun and crystal clear Adriatic sea of my home island.
I’ve worked many years in hospitality industry, close to 20 years, and love sharing the love of my island with people from around the globe. My family also has land and produces olive oil and wine, so I’m familiar with these practises and have a deep seated love of nature, both flora and fauna. And I’m no stranger myself to working at fields, harvesting both grapes and olives.

I love travelling, getting to know different cultures, gastronomy, meeting new people, learning new languages. I enjoy architecture and art, and love to compare it to those of my own heritage.
I love hiking, and I’m a member of our local Mountaineering club.

I’m a local licensed guide, proficient in English. And I’d love to be your guide in Hvar and hope that by the end of your tour you’ll fall in love with Hvar at least half as much as I love living here.
