I was born and grew up in the ancient town of Lalibela, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose rock-hewn churches are today one of Ethiopia’s best-known wonders. He worked as a guide in Ethiopia for many years and became involved in developing community-based tourism projects there. Much of his family still live in Ethiopia, and he returns there regularly with his family. Besides qualifications in IT, Girma also has a degree in Travel & Tourism from the University of Brighton.
“I love the culture and the country I grew up in, and I know just how rich it is in so many ways. In facilitating great travel experiences in Ethiopia my aim is to bridge the divide between travellers and local communities – to make sure that both sides are rewarded by their experience.”
We set up Tadele Travel to share our knowledge of the country with people keen to experience not only the remarkable landscapes, wildlife and history of Ethiopia, but also the culture, warmth and hospitality of Ethiopians themselves.
For us, the foundation of designing journeys that achieve this is respect. All the experiences we offer respect the local people, wildlife and natural environment of Ethiopia.
