Excursion in Helsinki

You will see all the highlights of Helsinki and some of the most beautiful country-side just outside of Helsinki. The National Museum and The National Gallery, the most important highlights. We drive to Porvoo after the highlights of Helsinki. Porvoo is the second oldest town in Finland. It was inhabited as early as in the 1200´s and 1300´s. 

We can walk around the old city, and see beautiful old wooden houses. A special lunch at Haikko Mansion can be included in our Porvoo tour. Haikko is a very nice mansion hotel just outside of Porvoo, and they have excellent restaurant. You can taste reindeer or fish, or other Finnish specialities. The lunch can be even catered outside on a sunny day, or at sea shore for an extra service fee. The price of the lunch is not included in the tour.  A typical luxury lunch with drinks and dessert is around 50 euros (about 70 US $) per person. Special catering with private waiters for your group to sea shore or in garden is possible for an extra fee.

We can also include a visit to a farm house just outside Porvoo. They have even a 100-year-old smoke sauna which is available for visitors. It is very old Finnish tradition. Sauna belongs to every Finnish home and it has long traditions in Finland. It is said that sauna is a Finnish invention, and in many countries you see different types of saunas, steam saunas and the "Finnish saunas". 

Smoke sauna is the oldest tradition, there is no chimney in the sauna hut. When the heating starts, all smoke is inside the building and it is ventilated. When the sauna is hot, there is no more smoke inside, but you notice the scent of smoke and walls are black.

If you want to go to 100-year-old Finnish smoke sauna, it can be booked separately for your group only. Usually in Finland men and women go in separate times into the sauna.. The extra cost is only 35 euros (about 50 US$) per person, refreshments, coffee and sausages are included. Clean towels and swimming suits can be provided as well for your convenience. You can also swim. The sauna takes about 1.5 hours. 
Alternatively I will arrange a visit to a Finnish home for additional fee. If you visit Helsinki for just one day, you want to see the most interesting things in a private tour. 

You can choose a simple tour for 1-4 persons or a longer all-day tour. Prices vary depending on your wishes. Porvoo requires all day tour. Prices starting at 490 euros, about 650 US$ for 1-4 persons. Please contact me for exact price calculation.
