Information about Santorini
This breathtaking island in the Agean Sea is located about 120 miles off the southeastern coast of mainland Greece. Formed by volcanic eruptions and grouped with several smaller islands, a protected lagoon surrounded by sheer cliffs and spectacular beaches invites cruise ships and vacationing tourists to enjoy its pleasant atmosphere.
Santorini has a small but flourishing wine industry and welcomes wine-tasting tours. Visitors also take advantage of the hot desert climate to enjoy its many outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, rock-climbing, sailing, scuba diving and swimming. Tourists also enjoy the views from the Santorini Tram, as well as the Open Air Cinema of Kimari, and the fantastic restaurants on Amoudi Bay.
You will feel as if you’ve gone back in time with a visit to the 11th century ruins of ancient Thera, and the remains of the Akrotoi. Of course, everyone needs to see the spectacular Santorini Volcano.
