Day 01 / Arrival Delhi
Meet and greet at the airport and transfer by AC Exclusive car to the Hotel. Overnight at the Hotel in Delhi - Hotel: Metro City / Similar About Delhi Delhi is a bustling metropolis, which successfully combines in its folds the ancient with modern. Its strategic location was the prime reasons why successive dynasties chose it as their seat of power. In fact, more mythological cities are believed to be here, like the city of Indraprastha from the Hindu epic Mahabharata, founded around 5000 BC. Numerous monuments were built over several centuries by different rulers like Qutub-ud-din Aibek, Alauddin Khilji, Tughlaks, Humayun & Shah Jahan, who built the Walled City Shah Jahanabad.
Later in first half of 20th century much of New Delhi was planned by Sir Edwin Lutyens, who laid out a grandiose central administrative area as a testament to British rule in India. The division in walled city & New Delhi also marks the division in life styles.
Day 02 / Delhi - Haridwar - Rishikesh
Breakfast at the Hotel . AM Rest at the Hotel . 13 .00 Hrs : Proceed on a half day sightseeing of Delhi . Later transfer to the Train station to board the train for Delhi. TRAIN : 4041 DELHI –HARIDWAR 2110 / 0535 Overnight in the train in Aircondtioned coach with sleeping facilty . Meals: Breakfast Detail of half day Delhi Sightseeing In New Delhi, we visit Raj Ghat, memorial to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. It is a simple black marble platform that marks the spot of his cremation on 31 January 1948. Further we drive past India Gate, memorial built in the year 1931 to commemorate the Indian soldiers who died in the World War I & the Afghan Wars. The names of the soldiers who died in these wars are inscribed on the walls. President's House, the official residence of the President of India, built in the year 1931. Until 1950 it was known as Viceroy's House & served as the residence of the Governor-General of British India.
We will also visit Humayun's Tomb, memorial of Mughal Emperor Humayun, built in the year 1562. The complex is a World Heritage Site & the first example of this type of Mughal architecture in India. Qutub Minar, built in the year 1206 by Qutub-ud-din Aibek. It is the tallest (72m) brick minaret in the world, an important example of Indo-Islamic Architecture. Day 03 / Haridwar - Rishikesh
Arrival Haridwar station and transfer to Rishikesh Hotel The Ganga Beach Resort . Rest of the time free in Rishikesh to explore the small township spread out by the river Ganges . Afternoon you can visit Haridwar (suggestive) to view Ganga Maha Aarti . Overnight at Hotel in Rishikesh. Hotel: The Ganga Beach Resort . Meals : Breakfast About Haridwar At the Ghats there are always good numbers of devotees who arrive from different parts of Country to take the Holy bath. About Rishikesh Rishikesh has traditionally been “the place of sages” and also popular for its Yoga Culture. About Ganga Maha Aarti This religious ceremony takes place every evening by the Holy River Ganges at Rishikesh. In this ritual Hindu devotees offer prayers to the river Ganges and flow candles in the holy water of Ganges.
Day 04 / Rishikesh – Corbett / 192 kms / 5.5 hrs
Breakfast at the Hotel. Later check out of the Hotel and Drive to Corbett. Evening free time for leisure at Corbett . Overnight at Hotel in Corbett . Hotel: Manu Maharani / Similar Meals: Breakfast . About Corbett National Park:It is India’s first national park and tiger reserve conceptualized in 1936. It is spread in a total area of 1,288 sq kms. Corbett has a diverse topography – savannah grasslands, deep gorges, rolling hills, narrow swift streams, reservoirs and thick forest cover. The park provides an opportunity to view a large variety of wildlife species including over a hundred tigers.
Day 05 / Corbett - Delhi / ( overnight train )
Breakfast at the Hotel Morning take a Jeep safari in the National Park ( mainly Jhirna or Sitabani Area ) Return to hotel. And later take another afternoon safari Jeep for viewing wildlife in the park. On return check out and after some free time transfer to the train station to board the overnight train For Delhi. Day 06 / Delhi – Agra / 262km / 05:00 Hrs
Early morning arrival at the train station and drive directly to Agra . Arrive Agra by 9. 30 PM and check in Hotel . Afternoon a guided Sightseeing of Agra which includes Agra Fort and The Taj Mahal . Hotel: Hotel Amar / Howard Park Plaza Meals: None About Agra Agra is beautifully situated on the banks of river Yamuna. It achieved prominence as the capital of the Mughal Emperors from the year 1526 to 1628, remains major tourist destination because of its many splendid Mughal-era monuments, most notably the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort & Fatehpur Sikri, all three are UNESCO World Heritage sites. About Agra Fort This fort was taken over from the Lodhis Kingdom by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in the late 16th century. The Fort can be more accurately described as a walled palatial city. It was built from red sandstone, often inlaid with white marble & intricate decorations.
Day 07 / Agra – FatehPur Sikri - Jaipur
Breakfast at the Hotel and proceed to Jaipur . En route stop to visit The Fatehpur Sikri . Arrive Jaipur and check in Hotel ., Rest of the time at Leisure in Jaipur. You may visit its traditional bazaar. Overnight in Hotel at Jaipur. Suggestive : Visit to a cinema hall in the late afternoon to view a Bollywood film. Hotel: Arya Niwas / Similar Meals: Breakfast About Fatehpur Sikri Fatehpur Sikri (Ghost Capital), was the political capital of India's Mughal Empire under Akbar's reign, from the year 1571 until 1585, when it was abandoned, ostensibly due to lack of water. We visit Emperor Akbar's Residential complex, Mosque & Tomb of Salim Chisti.
Day 08 / Jaipur – Delhi
Breakfast at the Hotel . Leave for a guided sightseeing tour of Jaipur. Later drive to Delhi and free time at Delhi . Late evening transfer (depending upon the time of the flight) to the airport for flight back home. Tour Concludes. Details of sightseeing Tour of Jaipur: Today we take an excursion to Amber Fort; the palace complex which stands to this date was commenced under the reign of Raja Man Singh. We take an Elephant ride to reach the Fort situated on the hill, an interesting experience.
Later we visit the City Palace. The center of the palace is a seven-storied building called Chandra Palace, with fine views over the gardens & the city. Further we visit Jantar Mantar (Solar Observatory), an astronomical treasure house, with solar devices that give accurate predictions till date. We also visit Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), a five-storied structure of pink sandstone. It was built in the year 1799 so that veiled royal women could peer down the busy street market unseen by the world through its 593 stone Jharokas (miniwindows).
