Classic Camping Laikipia encompasses the diversity of Kenya. The safari begins with the drive from Nairobi to the northern Samburu & Shaba Game Reserves - a rugged, semi-arid region that is home to unusual species such as Grevy zebra and reticulated giraffe, as well as oryx, gerenuk, somali ostrich and dik-dik. Elephant, lion, cheetah and leopard are also seen on morning and evening game drives.

Time is spent on the Laikipia Plateau an area often referred to as the last stronghold of romantic East Africa; vast open ranches, shadowed by snow-capped Mount Kenya and home to many traditional communities including the Laikipia, Masai and the Samburu. Further south a night is spent at a Rift Valley Ranch House with views across Lake Naivasha.

Three days are spent game viewing in the rolling green plains of the Masai Mara. Considered to be the best of Kenya's wildlife areas, the fertile Mara plains sustain an enormous amount of game and are home to the Masai people.
