Day One - pick up at 23 Mayfield in Edinburgh at 10:00 am and travel to Highland Perthshire, stop and view Loch Leven (famous for its' castle from which Mary Queen of Scots escaped, and for its unique strain of brown trout), via the world's tallest hedge to Glenshee (Glen of the Fairies) stop for lunch at the charming highland village of Braemar and travel over the high road of Lecht through Glenlivet to Speyside; stay at a delightful country house hotel
Day Two - visit Glenfiddich Distillery including the history and tour of the Distillery, overview of the whisky making process, tour of the traditional warehouses, snack lunch in Dufftown, tour The Balvenie Distillery at 2pm - three hours in-depth tour starting with a coffee and chat and including a visit to the working malt barns, floors and kilns, the cooperage. followed, most naturally, with nosing and tasting of 4 different varieties of Balvenie, from first-fill and refill casks. Overnight at country house with the opportunity to dine at the: Mash Tun (locally sourced food and great whisky bar selection) in Aberlour.
Day Three - head from Speyside by Cromdale to the Drumochter Pass; a stop at the House of Bruar (a highland emporium), via the Queen's View of Loch Rannoch and the shoulder of the fairy hill of Schielhallion to Fortingall for possibly Europe's Oldest Tree; via resplendent Loch Tay, the Falls of Dochart and Loch Lomond (reknowned in Jacobite song) stay at a friendly and stylish boutique hotel bed and breakfast.
Day Four: A Free Day to explore Glasgow including the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, catch A Play, A Pie and a Pint at Oran Mor, make your way to Auchentoshan Distillery in the former shipbuilding town of Clydebank. Back to Edinburgh for early evening.
