My name is Aleksandar, 35 years old. Historian and former freelance jorunalist, published articles in various magazines mainly in the US and provided useful information about civil aviation in Serbia and the region. I'll be glad to show you just small pieces of Serbia, because it is hard, if not impossible, to see everything that my country has to offer. We'll talk about history, culture, tradition, music, unique way of living and after your stay here, I'm sure you'll come back over and over again.
Most of the visits to Serbia begin in Belgrade. Many of visitors are only concentrated in this bustling city, which is quite understandable having in mind the fact that majority of visits to Belgrade don't last longer than two to three days. For such visitors, I suggest a three hours walking tour around the historic Belgrade. We weill beging our tour at Belgrade Fortress and learn about the vibrant history hidden beneath old walls. After that, we will visit the mainpedestrian street: Knez Mihajlova Street (or Prince Michael Street in English), Terazije, Old and New Palaces, Parliament building and finally, the tour will end in the amazing St. Sava Temple. Together, we'll learn about history, culture, higher education system in Serbia, religion.
We can also make short trips to other region. After learning about Belgrade, we can go to the north and visit Novi Sad, enjoy in its nice architecture, have launch in one of the nice restaurants....or we could head south of Belgrade and visit Opleanc and the Royal Mausoleum. There, we will learn more about Karadjordjevic dynasty and you even might be surprised to learn about their connection with other European dynasties....Visiting Serbia is never complete without visiting medieval monasteries, so why don't we make a two day trip and visit several monasteries important not only for Serbian, but also for European history and culture....These are only some suggestions. Serbia has so much to offer and it waits just for you to discover it!
