Information about Abu Dhabi
The capital of the United Arab Emirates and the second most populated city located there is Abu Dhabi. It’s located on an island, pushing into the Persian Gulf from the western coast. The culture is based on Arabia’s Islamic traditions and they commit to tolerance, hospitality and local heritage. Abu Dhabi is a thriving cosmopolitan metropolis with its residents earning a high average income. This could be due in part to the fact that Abu Dhabi is one of the largest producers of oil in the world.
Federal government offices, financial institutions and the corporate headquarters of many multinational corporations are located in Abu Dhabi. Its position as the capital has led to political, industrial, cultural and commercial activities being focused there. The city contains over 2,000 parks and gardens, 249 miles of coastline and 6 miles of public beaches.
Points of interest: Sheikh Zayed Mosque, the 6th largest mosque in the world. Khalifa Park, formal gardens, aquarium, museum, train and play parks are located here. The Abu Dhabi Cultural Centre hosts cultural events and workshops, has a library, children’s programs and art exhibitions. The waterfront is a popular area for walking and go-cart riding, stages shows and playgrounds are located throughout.
