Information about Hoi An
Hoi An is a city situated in the South Central Coast region of Vietnam and has a tropical climate pleasing to vacationers. The city possesses four museums that emphasis the history of the area. These museums are under the direction of the Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation.
The Museum of History and Culture was initially a pagoda that was constructed in the 17th century to worship the Quan An. This museum houses original remnants that are from the Sa Huynh, Champa, Dai Viet and Dai Nam eras. History of Hoi An's inhabitants are followed from initial settlers up to French colonial times. The Hoi An Folklore Museum is the biggest two-story wooden structure. Located on the second floor are 490 artifacts categorized into four separate areas. These sections are plastic folk arts, performing folk arts, traditional occupations, and artifacts related to the daily life of Hoi An residents.
The Museum of Trade Ceramics is positioned in a renovated wooden edifice constructed around 1858. The Museum of Sa Huynh Culture showcases an assemblage of more than 200 relics from the Sa Huynh culture dating back to over 2000 years ago. This museum is known for its distinctive collection of Sa Huynh artifacts in Vietnam. Hoi An is an ideal destination for tourists who are partial to beaches.
