Customer's Opinions about guide from Bruges, Belgium
We chose Georges after reading his bio on this site. Our reason for going to Belgium was to see WW1 and WW2 sites and with his military background and interest in history he met our needs. Before the trip he worked with us in putting together an itinerary that covered everything we wanted to see doing WW1 sites one day and WW2 sites the next day. His van was clean and comfortable. His knowledge of the history of both wars was excellent and interesting. We would have paid more if we would have gone on the large mass tours provided by travel companies and would not have had the convenience of being picked up and dropped off at our hotel. When you have a private guide the day is flexible, you can leave things in the van and have personal attention from your guide. We would absolutely recommend him for your touring needs. He exceeded our expectations!
Six of us from Ireland visited Belgium in late September. We
required airport transfers from Brussels to Bruges and tours to Dunkirk and Flanders. We opted for Georges, who was an excellent choice. Absolutely punctual, friendly, with a through knowledge of his subject, and very flexible, he added greatly to our visit. We have no hesitation in recommending Georges services to any person visiting Bruges.
Great tour with George”
I booked a tour with Mr. George Depooter for a six hour tour in July 2015. All of our correspondence prior to meeting was handled promptly, efficiently, and politely. George had even pre planned every stop so that we could see the most and optimize our visit in Belgium. He even sent pre photos of which shuttle bus to take to the entrance, and photos of some of the sites we would be visiting.
He picked us up at the Zeebrugge pier promptly at our agreed time. His Mercedes mini van was clean, modern, and comfortable. I made requests and they were met without a problem. He was very informative and helpful. We went to Maldege, Sijsele, and Brugge. In Brugge we saw as many sites as time would allow, of course the stables... Chocolate, Lace, and French Fries with mayonnaise to say the least. We even had the opportunity to see a special site hidden from the public in the basement of a hotel ( you'll just have to ask George to find out which one... But definitely a special treat for the Historian ). All in all we had a very special day in Belgium, the opportunity to go and see old friends still there was the highlight of our visit. George even took the time to contact them prior to our arrival so they knew the day and approximate time we would be arriving. I would, without a doubt, highly recommend Mr. George Depooter as your private guide. I do not think you will find anyone better or anyone who has more concern about there guests. A PLUS. 5 STAR..
The next time we come back again we will definitely take another tour with George !!!
have just returned from an aMAZZZING trip to belgium to tour waterloo. we had the best guide ever, so knowledgeable and friendly, easy to talk to. The new museum at the battle site was really good especially the 3D movie cinema, you felt as though you could walk amongst the scene. Hougoumont farm was just as good. If you go book Georges you won't be disappointed. we hope to do the somme soon. guess who we will be booking? see you soon Georges regards Jan & Jim
If you are looking for a private tour guide in Belgium, you need not to search any further - Georges is the one!
Georges was able to tailor our 4 day tour of Brussels, Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent, Leuven, Bastogne and Luxembourg to our needs. His knowledge of each city and its history was outstanding. He made our itinerary efficient throughout our stay. He quickly became our friend and not just our tour guide.
Thank you Georges for a memorable vacation!
