A cruise can last indefinite time – it depends on your eagerness to travel and finances – and it allows tourists to visit various exotic countries at the same time staying in the lap of luxury on the board of a world-class ship. You should start packing by making sure you’ve taken the folder with documents, seeing as they are extremely important in your journey. In case you forget that folder, you might have lots of problems. The most essential documents related to your trip are: cruise reservation documents, airline tickets to the port of embarkation, passports and all the necessary visas, credit cards and of course medical insurance cards. If you have all these papers of extreme importance at your disposal, you will be sure that you won’t have any problems getting off the board during a shore excursion and you’ll be properly taken care of if an emergency arises. In order to feel even more secure you can also make copies of these documents and always carry them with you. This simple precaution will come in handy in case the original is lost, damaged or stolen. 

It is worth noting that luxury cruise ships usually provide basic toiletries for the shower. So you can save some precious luggage space and not waste it on conditioner and shampoo. Before you leave for cruise you should double-check if you haven’t left anything important in your bathroom: glasses, contact lenses, medications, contact solution, mouthwash, deodorant, and hair gel. However, in case you do forget anything, the ship will have a convenience store where you can buy any sundries and toiletries you happened to forget at home. 

Another important thing is to have a wide array of clothing at your disposal, seeing as cruises may require everything from a formal tuxedo to a casual swimsuit. Cruises company usually stick to casual clothing, so pack everything that adheres to that guideline. For the daytime both women and men may want to pack away comfortable sandals, breezy shirts and shorts. In case the temperature drops, they can opt for a windbreaker or sweatshirt to help them stay warm. Besides that you might also consider bringing along an umbrella, a rain jacket and galoshes. All these things will be very helpful if rainy weather interrupts any shore excursion. For more formal settings, women may want to bring a skirt with a good blouse and an evening dress. As for men, they may need a nice pair of shoes and a suit. It is advisable to bring wrinkle-free items when packing, or try rolling your clothes. If you fold your clothes, they will have numerous creases. Unfortunately cruise cabins don’t have irons, although you can find them in the ship’s laundry rooms.
