Wine Tour in your Favorite Valley and Winery
Private tour in Santiago
Tour Price : us$1 Duration : 8hrs Languages: Spanish, English, French, German, Portuguese, Russian
Wine tours in Chile are extremely popular due to the fact that Chilean wine is highly appreciates all over the world. If you happen to be a wine connoisseur, or you are just curious about the process of wine production in Chile – this tour is especially for you. You should take into consideration that the whole tour lasts approximately eight hours, so make sure you have the whole day at your disposal.
Our first destination will be the famous Maipo Valley. Luckily it is situated not far from Santiago, so it will take us no more than 50 minutes to get there. We will driver along one of the currents of the Maipo River until we reach the most picturesque and traditional viticultural zones of Chile. It is the place where the very first vineyards were planted centuries ago. In the east the valley is limited by Andes Mountain and in the west by the Coastal Mountains. It is worth noting that the cultivated territory is really huge – approximately 2700 hectares, more than half of which is for the red wine grapes (1500 hectares) and the rest for the white wine grapes (1200 hectares). You should note that the famous or even legendary kind of grape called “Carmenere” was discovered in the Maipo Valley in the 90’s. BY the way “Carmenere” is cultivated only in Chile. Most of the ecologists considered this grape to be extinguished since the beginning of the 19th century.
During the first part of our tour we will visit only one winery. Note that wine tasting is not included in our program. Of course it is possible, but only on your personal request. Afterwards we will have lunch (which is also not included in the price of the tour, and it in fact optional), and we will take you to your hotel. It is a brief characteristic of the first option you have. The Second one included visiting three wineries. In this case we will visit the first two wineries in the morning, and then we will have a short lunch break. It is worth noting that lunch is not included in the initial price.
Nevertheless your impressions of the tour won’t be full if you don’t taste some of the Chilean specialties with a glass of fine Chilean wine. Most of the private guides in Santiago would recommend you to take some extra money for the lunch, because Chilean food is extraordinary. In the second half of the day you will visit one more winery, and the whole tour will last for at least six hours. It is very nice to have a professional Chilean private guide at your disposal in such tours, because he or she will take care of all the organizational problems and you will only have to enjoy the tour without worrying about anything.
