The Ancient Roman Forum holds some of the most important artistic representations of the Jewish population while under Roman rule, and during the Imperial period.
This tour specifically aims to explore the Forum with a Jewish perspective.
Beginning in the main street of the Forum, the Via Sacred, you will embark upon the same path the Jewish slaves were forced to walk in honor of the Emperor Titus and his victory over the Second Temple.
Moving on, you will come across evidence of Jewish symbolisms, revealing just how this special population thrived within Rome’s Ancient world.
You will specifically focus on the Arch of Titus and the Mamertine Prison, two very important monuments which make evident the history of the Jewish Population in Rome.
This tour will conclude with a stop at the Church of St. Peter in Chains, where you will be introduced to Michelangelo’s famous masterpiece, The Moses.
Entrance to the Colosseum and Forum Euro 13.50 pp
