The Borghese Gallery is so famous due to the fact that it displays a significant part of the legendary Borghese collection of sculpture, paintings and antiquities, first started and owned by the Cardinal Scipione Borghese.
In the incredible frame of the Villa Borghese, whose rooms still preserve the original 17th century decoration and furnitures, you will admire the collection of ancient art, starting from the Gladiator Mosaic (4th century) and the roman statuary up to the sculpture and paintings of such masters as Raphael, Titian, Bernini ans Caravaggio.
Because the gallery goes easily overcrowded it is necessary to book the tickets well in advance.
