Information about Osaka

Osaka is a city in the Kansai region of Japan and is located in the humid subtropical climate zone with four distinct seasons.  There is a wealth of culture in Osaka.  Here, visitor can browse the National Museum of Art, an underground museum showcasing Japanese and international arts.   Umeda Arts Theatre hosts numerous types of performances consisting of musicals, music concerts, dramas, and other presentations.  One of the most prominent festivals held in Osaka is the Tenjin-matsuri celebrated on July 24 and 25.   

The National Museum of Art is a Japanese and international art museum that is home to mostly assemblages from the post-war era and displays short-term exhibitions. A fabulous landmark is Osaka Science Museum, situated next to the National Museum of Art, with a planetarium and an OMNIMAX theatre. Other museums include the Museum of Oriental Ceramics, Osaka Municipal Museum of Art, and Osaka Museum of History.  The Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan is a wonderful aquarium to visit.  The HEP Five is a terrific shopping/amusement plaza in Umeda that has a Sega Joypolis and rooftop Ferris wheel offering views of the city.  Another awesome site is Umeda Sky Building with twin skyscrapers connected by a rooftop "Floating Garden" observatory. 

This gives a 360-degree panoramic view of Osaka. This edifice also houses an underground mall with restaurants designed like the early Showa period of the 1920s.  Osaka has parks, temples, and shrines for guests to see while on their vacations.  The wonderment of Osaka makes it a top-notch vacation destination.
