08:00 Departure | pick up from your hotel in Skopje. Drive from Skopje and drive on mountain road via Mavrovo NP, the biggest national park in Macedonia. Mavrovo lake, river Radika canyon and lakes made by river Crn Drim together with the biggest monastery in Macedonia, Bigorski monastery, are just some of many attractions on this picturesque road. Upon arrival in the city of Ohrid a walking tour starts from the point Upper gate. Because of the religious importance and its numerous churches and monasteries,

Ohrid is also famous under the name “Macedonian Jerusalem”. According the history facts, there used to be 365 churches - a church for each day! In 12th century, the city was also the seat of Archbishop of Ohrid. Since 1979 the city and the lake of Ohrid are under protection of UNESCO. City tour starts with visit to the Church of Mother of God - Peribleptos, one of the most important Ohrid churches. Right across this church is the Icon gallery with its collection of more than 30 icons estimated as masterworks created in a period from 11th to 19th century. Tour continue to the Tzar Samuil fortress, located on the top of the hill, with a spectacular view over the city. Nearby, on Plaosnik locality, is the foundation of the Early Christian basilica and the recently rebuilt Church of St.Klement - the city patron, on the foundations of the original church from 9th century.

The foundations of the first Slavic university on the Balkans are here as well. Bellow, in the locality called Kaneo, on the rock climbing over the lake is founded the Church of St.John of Devine. - a small church with three sided apse and octagonal dome, a typical piece of traditional architecture. .Do not miss the opportunity to see old Ohrid from the lake side, taking a short boat ride from Kaneo area to the city center. The Ohrid walking tour finish with visit of the Cathedral church of Ohrid - St Sofia. This is the biggest and oldest church in Ohrid, with surprisingly well preserved fresco paintings from 10th century. Time at leisure. In the afternoon drive along the Ohrid lake coast line to the south part of the lake and Monastery of Saint Naum. As a final surprise in this tour - a spectacular 40 min boat cruise above the springs of river Crn Drim.

There is large amount of underwater and side springs who makes a beautiful lake. The water coming from this springs is actually the spring of river Black (Crn) Drim who flows into Ohrid lake. Late afternoon drive back to Skopje and arrival in Skopje in the evening. End of the tour.
