Another one of my favourite weekend hike/run is Bukit Putih located in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. Popular with regular hikers and locals alike because of its lush greenery, fresh air and thick foliage for shade.
Thus making it ideal to hike the hill anytime during daytime. The trails are well marked with station 1 to station 6 and one can easily ascent to almost 400 metres in a short while thus making it a good training spot for those preparing to climb Mount Kinabalu (the highest mountain in South East Asia). For a leisurely hike, one can choose to detour to a waterfall at station 5 and have a good picnic over there as most regular hikers do.
Some locals refer this hill as Apek hill or Saga Hill but the voluntary association that maintains the surroundings refer it as Bukit Putih literally translates to White(Putih)Hill(Bukit) in English. It's a challenging track that consists of steep incline and decline with ropes along the route. So why not check it out with me?
