In this private wine tour, you will get an insider view of the Douro Valley, meeting two local families that have been involved in making Douro wine since the 1700’s. You will visit the homes of Teresa and Jose, two cousins with big hearts, great sense of humour and lots of stories to share. 

First, you will visit Casa dos Barros, a historic manor house lovingly restored by Teresa. Let your senses awaken with a typical Portuguese petiscos lunch (small plates) and a range of delicious wines from Lavradores de Feitoria.

 Lunch will be followed by coffee in the garden, and then we are off to Casa dos Lagares, the wine property of José. We’ll tour the winery and try more wines, including one of the best Ports you’ll ever taste.

 In the late afternoon, you will enjoy a leisurely “secret” walk near Casal dos Loivos, one of the most beautiful spots in the world, according to the BBC.

 The return drive to Porto will surprise you with more beautiful scenery and, if the weather cooperates, you will see an incredible sunset over the hills.
