East Coast and Changi Tour
Excursion in Singapore
Tour Price : Price tour negotiable Duration : 3,5 hour Languages: English, Chinese, Cantonese
Start the tour with a visit to the Malay ethnic quarter in the east. Soak in the rich cultural heritage of the Malays who are the native inhabitants of Singapore. After the British dispersed the Malay floating village at the mouth of the Singapore River in the 1840s, the Malays, together with the large influx of Malaysians and Indonesians, congregated in Geylang, and subsequently, Geyland Serai in Singapore. Next, move up to the Changi Chapel and Museum. A beacon of hope for the hopeless. The Changi Chapel, housed within the open-air courtyard of the Museum, is a symbolic replica of the many chapels built during the Japanese Occupation. Built by Changi Prison inmates, it stands as a monument to those who maintained their faith and dignity during those dark years. A drive through the rustic and laid-back Changi Village gives you a chance to see the relaxing side of Singapore. Contrast it with the Tampines New Town, a typical heartland town of present day Singapore.
