City on the Mediterranean coastline, with 335,000 inhabitants. It is the capital of the Alicante´s province. The Bonfires of Saint John are its most important festivities year after year are celebrated in the month of June. In the Mount Benacantil, we will find Santa Barbara Castle, this spectacular building 166m above the sea level, with a huge strategic value because you can control all the Alicante´s bay.

Visiting the old city center we will discover the typical Mediterranean neighborhood: peaceful, colourful and full of life. In this walking tour we will find the co-cathedral, built on the remains of a mosque, in herrerian Renacentist style. The town hall administrative building in baroque style built during the XVIII century. The Nestor Carbonell: residential palace from 1924, in modernist style. And finishing with the Explanade: pedestrian street next to the seaside made with more than 6 million and half ceramic pieces.

After this short walking tour we will drive to San Juan beach where we will find the Santa Faz Monastery. Inside this monastery we can admire a relic brought from the Vatican in the XV century, according to a popular tradition, was the cloth which Veronica wiped the face of Jesus bloody road to Calvary.
