Seated on the shores of Lake Geneva is the capital of the Canton of Vaud and a city in Romandy, Lausanne. It’s one of the largest cities in Switzerland and is the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee. Lausanne is also known as the Olympic Capital. There are 46 sites that are listed as Swiss Heritage Sites of National Significance. 

Museums, art galleries and monuments are numerous in Lausanne. Religious Buildings include Notre-Dame Cathedral and Swiss Reformed Church of Saint-Francois. Each year the Prix de Lausanne, a famous dance competition, takes place over a one-week period. Dancers from all over the world attend this event. The Lausanne Opera and Bejart Ballet are also located in Lausanne. The Swiss Film Archive facility hosts events such as the Lausanne Underground Film and Music Festival and Festival Cinemas d’Afrique. 

The night life in Lausanne is alive and well, don’t forget your dancing shoes! Start at MAD and see one of the largest Swiss dance clubs. They have international DJ appearances, Trance and Techno nights and even Jungle Gay Nights. At the Atelier Volant you can experience three floors of entertainment. Brazilian and Cuban bands, salsa dance parties, Punk and Rock. The Disco area has a candy theme. You must be 25 or older to enter clubs in Lausanne.
