Singapore is one of the most affordable destinations of the East Asia. - Botanic garden
Botanic garden is opened until midnight and the entrance is free. But if you will like to admire orchids, you’ll have to pay $5. Here you can hide from the scalding sun, walk among green and see a great variety of different types of plants. The garden houses a Tropical wood, Garden of Evolution, Botanical centre, a garden for children and lakes. Near the Symphony Lake different concerts are regularly held and in 2008 a statue of Chopin was erected.
- Chinatown
The majority of Singapore inhabitants are of Chinese origin and the Chinatown that was built in the first days of colonialism only confirms this fact. This area is a great place for walking. Here you can admire old Chinese houses, shops, markets and temples. The gallery of Singapore and Buddha’s Tooth museum can be visited free of charge.
- Merlion
The Merlion statue represents a mythical character with the body of fish and head of the lion, and from its mouth spouts water. This is the symbol of the country’s tight relation with the sea and water, and its lion’s features symbolize the bravery of the Singapore people. The Merlion is the main attraction of the park, but there also can be admired the fascinating view over the bay and the Singapore’s outlines.
- The Sentosa’s beaches and nightlife
Some nightclubs located on the main beach area of Sentosa Island offer to have fun for free. Best parties are held on Friday and Saturday, and Singaporeans are flocking here earlier in the day. If you are looking for quietness, then off the coast of Sentosa you can take the ferry to the neighboring island of Kusu. There are several quiet beaches and temples.
- Little India
This ethnic area is home to shops and restaurants featuring the goods and products from India. One of the most famous places in Little India is Veeramakaliamman Temple, built over 130 years ago. Along the narrow alleys have lined traders and colorful shops, and during the Hindu holydays the district transforms in the venue for exotic celebrations.
- Singapore’s river bank
Singapore is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Asia, which after dark is illuminated by thousands of lights from skyscrapers. You can enjoy a night walk along the river, where are walking paths and bridges at every hundred meters in case you would want to cross the river.
