Some Egypt private guides won’t even offer you any trips to the desert, supporting the common belief that there’s nothing to do outside the large cities and popular ancient sites. However, with this tour you’ll get a completely different impression of Egypt and learn about the poetry of the desert. A two-day trip to the wonders of the golden sea, which will show you how many interesting thing there are in the plain desert.
  • Day 1. Early morning departure from Cairo into the desert, which will take us to the Bahariya Oasis. There we’ll meet the hospitable Bedouins and get to know their fascinating tradition and unique nomad lifestyle prior to continuing our journey. First of all, we’ll visit the Valley of the Golden Mummies, discovered not that long ago. There are many tombs in this area and it is speculated that even more mummies are to be found in the golden sands near the oasis. Then we’ll head further into the desert to see the numerous rock formations that have been shaped into unique forms by the sun and the desert sand. This will be a perfect opportunity to take photos, so you’ll have plenty of free time to indulge in the activity before returning to the oasis. Here you’ll enjoy traditional barbeque and a Bedouin party held by the locals.
  • Day 2. The second day will also take us to the tranquil desert for more remarkable sites, such as the unique Crystal Mountain. You will clearly see how the crystals are growing right out of the golden desert sands, and have some time to walk around the site taking photos. In the afternoon we’ll enter our van and head back to Cairo.

I am not sure, but it seems, as though sand is mixed in paints which these pictures are written with. We were in the museum of Badr - only for the sake of it it is needed to go so far to the quiet oasis Farafra. This museum amazes. Sahara is inhabited, endless and various. The desert is the same space of life. But it is more quiet here, brighter, longer, cleaner, and smells like salt of seas.
