This two day tour will take you to the upper region of the Nile River to admire some of the most remarkable ancient sites of the area. You will be met by an Egypt private guide once you arrive to Aswan and taken to your hotel. After taking a short rest it is time to explore the wonders surrounding this city.

The first site that we’ll see during this two-day trip will be the High Dam. This colossal structure has become one of the most ambitious undertakings in the history of modern Egypt, as the dam provides electricity, irrigational water and protects the lower banks of Nile from frequent flows. Its size is really immense and one could just admire the scale of this engineering marvel.

The next attraction will take us to the stone quarries near Aswan, where the famous Unfinished Obelisk is located. This immense piece of rock that didn’t make it out from the bedrock would be the biggest obelisk ever erected in Ancient Egypt. It is unknown who has commissioned its creation, but it doesn’t really matter since its state allows us to see the processes that the ancient workers have employed for such large-scale projects.

During the second day of this tour you will have the opportunity to visit the remote temple complex in Abu Simbel temples. There are two massive stone temples in this ancient complex, both carved out of the local rocks in honor of Ramses the Great and his beloved wife Nefertari. This complex is truly remarkable since it features many intact details and has a very tranquil atmosphere to it, which makes this long trip really worth it.

After exploring the distant temples we’ll return to Aswan where our tour will be concluded unless you specify it otherwise when booking the trip online.
