Among the many destinations that are very popular in Egypt, Alexandria is certainly one of the most prominent, especially if you’re taking a Mediterranean cruise. This city has many great attractions and is certainly worth exploring. But what if you want to explore the pyramids and other attractions of the ancient kingdom, but only have a single day at your disposal? This private tour is the solution, as it will take you from Alexandria to the most important sites in the capital, accompanied by a private guide in Cairo.

The tour assistant will meet you at the dock and drive you to the capital, which takes about 3 hours. Once you arrive to Cairo, I will meet you at some point and we’ll head to the most remarkable and popular cite in the city area – the Giza necropolis. Located on the outskirts of the capital, it is the most famous place of ancient kingdom, housing the three Great Pyramid of Giza and the legendary Great Sphinx of Giza statue. For an additional fee you can also get inside one of the pyramids and explore some of its interiors. We’ll also walk around the adjacent complexes of the pyramids and visit some of the temples and ruins while being there.

Next stop is the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, located in the city center. This formidable collection of ancient artifacts is the largest of its kinds on the planet, and its steady growth has forced several location changes, since the previous buildings just couldn’t store the abundance of items any longer. Today there are over 120,000 of exhibits in the museum, ranging from small domestic tools to huge statues and sarcophaguses. After spending several hours at the museum, it’s time to say goodbye and the driver will take you back to your dock in Alexandria.

There’s a lunch included in the tour, but it is a takeaway meal rather than a normal restaurant visit, since it will too much of your precious time to sit in a locale instead of exploring the ancient wonders of Cairo.
