The tulip flower, without a doubt, is one of the most recognized symbols of the Netherlands, as the country produces the largest number of tulip bulbs and is the main exporter of tulip flowers on the international market. The tradition of growing flowers is very rich in the Netherlands, spanning for over 400 centuries. And with this private tour in Holland  you’ll have a chance to learn the fascinating history of this industry and visit the places where the first Dutch tulips are grown.

This tour is only available during the blooming season from March to May, as it’s best to admire the beauty of tulip fields when the flowers fill them with their colors and create a really transcendental atmosphere to the whole landscape. We’ll first head to the town of Haarlem, where the first commercial tulip fields where established some 400 years ago. Then we’ll visit the old steam pumping station that was used to dry  the nearby lake, which now houses Amsterdam airport. We’ll also visit a museum dedicated to flower-themed landscape paintings and compare them with the modern-day fields, some of which didn’t change much over the centuries.

Driving through the narrow lanes crossing the gorgeous fields of tulips of all kinds we’ll visit the remarkable flower exhibition in De Keukenhof .This is certainly one of the most beautiful and colorful tours you can enjoy in the Netherlands!
