Situated north-east of Amsterdam, North Holland’s Waterland district is one of the most tranquil and beautiful places to take a walking tour. It is the very essence of the Dutch fairytale pastoral landscapes, with flat green pastures and waters, quiet cattle and farm houses. The beautiful Frisian cows grazing on flat polders and lush green grass form the perfect landscape. Book a private tour with me through the three towns of Edam, Marken and Monnickendam. These three are easily traveled line bus (extra ticket cost) they are situated close together. Meeting point is Amsterdam Central Station.

Larger groups can be accommodated for an additional cost with a line coach or minibus.

The peninsula of Marken was once an island and is now connected by a causeway to the mainland. It is a well-travelled by attraction by tourists because of the unique characteristic houses, costumed people and some homes built on stilts. In addition there are wooden shoe workshops. I can guide you through footpaths and streets or we can have a coffee break near the harbor. This is the perfect area to take some time and relax, enjoying scenery that is more beautiful than any in the world. 

North Holland and Monnickendam are well known for fantastic, unique architecture set in a beautifully preserved grassy, flat landscape.

Our third city, Edam is again a beautifully preserved small village that was once rich and successful in trade and boat building. It will again make for a comfortable tour on foot, with characteristic close-knit alleyways and squares. This is one of the best ways to get to know the Waterland area and to enjoy a fabulous trip.
