Information about Bilbao

Bilbao is the sixth big city of Spain and is situated in the North part of the country. It lies along the Nervion River and is the biggest city of Basque country. The temperate climate of the city, with mild winters and warm summers, makes Bilbao one of the most popular destinations of the region. The average temperature is 9°C in winter and 21°C in summer. 

The city was established as a fishing village in 1300, today this territory is called Old Bilbao and is located on the right side of the river. Here you can see many beautiful ancient architectural buildings such as the city hall, splendid gothic basilica that was built in 15th century, the charming Saint Antoine church and amazing Saint Vincent church with its gorgeous garden and the statue of Our Lady. Walking on the narrow streets of the old town you can admire elegant arcades of the squares, pompous villas and unique monuments, cozy cafes will serve you with traditional Basque cuisine and offer delicious wine. 

The most famous landmark of Bilbao is the Guggenheim Museum with its ultramodern design and remarkable collection of contemporary artists.
