Cartagena is located in Spain and is a beautiful region to visit with all it has to offer. The climate is warm and semi-arid with January as the coldest month and August as the warmest. There are many great places and landmarks to admire in this city. One of such is the Roman Theatre of Carthago. Its construction started being built at the end of the 2nd century B.C.
A few interesting museums that are frequented by tourists are the Roman theatre Museum, Municipal Archaeological museum Civil War shelter-museum, and the Arqua. The Arqua is the National Museum of Maritime Archaeology which was opened not too long ago. The Caridad church is renowned in the city and is dedicated to the Patron Saint of Cartagena. Countless visitors marvel at the infamous Peral submarine. The Peral was the very first electric battery-powered submarine and was constructed by the Spanish engineer and sailor, Isaac Peral. This submarine was created for use by the Spanish Navy. In addition to museums and historical points of interest, there are an impressive multitude of beaches including Mar de Cristal, which translates to “Crystal Sea”, is located alongside the Mar Menor.
Mar de Cristal is a beautiful and natural salt-water lagoon that it located along the Mediterranean Sea, and is a perfect place for tourists in search of a beach where they are able to relax or play golf should they desire. Cala Cortina and La Gola are other fabulous beaches as well. Surely something for everyone!
