Day 1: Arrival in Sofia and a detailed overview tour of the city. First, we’ll head to your hotel where you’ll have some time to rest after your flight or ground travel. Then, depending on your schedule, we’ll go through the most important landmarks all private tour guides in Sofia will take you through. The capital of Bulgaria is very rich with old churches, such as the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the basilica of St. Sophia, which dates back to the 14th century and which has actually given its name to the city. There’s even an older church, St. Rotunda, that is 1600 years and which also makes part of our tour. We’ll also visit more modern sites such as the Parliament Square, the National Theatre and others. After exploring the city we’ll enjoy a wonderful dinner.

Day 2: Travel to Veliko Tarnovo. This small town was the former capital of the Bulgarian Kingdom before it was conquered by the Ottoman Empire. Veliko Tarnovo features a large number of very old historic sites, such as the Tsarevets fortress, the churches of St. Peter and Paul (built in the 14th century), St. Demetrius (built in the 12th century), and Holy Forty Martyrs. After taking a walk along the hills of Veliko Tarnavo, we’ll also visit the village of Arbanassi located in a few miles, which was declared as a national cultural monument.

Day 3: Ethnographic explorations. Our day will start with a visit to the Etara museum, which features a genuine traditional village with all the accessories characteristic for the Bulgaria of 18-19th centuries. Then we’ll head to Shipka and its memorial, which is a very important site for the Bulgarian history. The Village of Koprivshtitsa, which will be our last stop will offer a great traditional atmosphere and a cozy accommodation at a family hotel.

Day 4: Return to Sofia. Before enjoying a free afternoon in the city that will conclude our tour, we’ll first visit the Museum of History and Boyana Church.
