This tour bears a strong theme, which will appeal to those who love exploring genuine locations and experiencing the local flavor without any modern mixes. Both Suzhou and Zhouzhuang are located in the Yangtze River Delta region, which defines their prominent and unique character: the both are water towns with numerous channels and beautiful scenery that you will never forget. We’ll start the tour Suzhou, which is located not far from Shanghai. It has a history spanning for over two millennia, being an important trading hub and silk production center for centuries.

Today you can see a lot of signs from its glorious past, which are preserved for present and future generations: gardens, bridges and unique buildings that were built during different dynasties. In a 45 minutes’ drive you’ll find Zhouzhuang, which is a bit smaller but this doesn’t mean that it’s not as beautiful as Suzhou. It was even declared to be “China’s No.1 Water Village” and you can tell that means a lot, assuming the number of such villages located in this particular region.

These cities are one of the richest in terms of scenic areas, and there’s no way you wouldn’t be touched by their unique atmosphere.
