Information about Madrid
Madrid is the heart of Spain and is the youngest capital city in Europe. This wonderful city is known for the great number of splendid palaces and castles belonging to different epochs, beautiful parks and amazing fountains. Millions of tourists come here every year to admire the famous Velasquez, Dali, Goya, Rembrandt, Titian and many others, whose works are located in Prado museum. This museum holds the richest collection in the world – 8600 masterpieces of art.
Among Madrid’s most famous architectural landmarks is the royal palace, built in 1764 at the order of Fillip V., which today is opened for public and anyone can admire the luxury of its interior design.
Madrid is the homeland of thrilling corrida and here is located the biggest Spain’s arena where you can witness the exiting bullfight.
Madrid never sleeps, the city’s streets are bustling all nights long, and it is due not only to the opened night clubs and restaurants, but mostly because during the night time many national museums and art galleries, royal palaces and cathedrals open their doors for visitors eager to get acquainted with capital’s culture and history. Anyone who at least once visited Madrid remains impressed by its cultural and historical heritage.
