On this tour I will take you to Thuburbo Majus .The city was originally a Punic colony. Romans started to raise their settlements here in 27 BC. Most of the town was built around 150 - 200 AD and restored in the 4th century after a 3rd century crisis. The main sources of income were oil, wheat, fruit and wine. The site is very much worth the visit, with its attractive Capitol, its several fine mosaic floors and the striking colors of its columns. I’ am sure you will like it.

After a local lunch we continue our way to “the best-preserved Roman small town in North Africa”. The level of preservation and detail that remains is fascinating and the access to all parts of the site is excellent. . Many of its monuments are unique of their type particularly the theatre the capitolium dedicated to Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva, the Lybico-Punic mausoleum, the Temple of Caelestis and the Bath of the Cyclopses.

After visiting the most interesting monuments of the city we make our way back to Tunis.
