Gabriella - Private Guide in Budapest
Languages: Hungarian, English, French
My name is Gabriella, a private and personal guide in Budapest and Hungary. I am very lucky because my job is my hobby. I like sharing my delight over the beauty of my beloved country with my guests. I would like to offer you individual quality tours with a wide range of destinations. You are not a tourist but a guest for me!
I am a licensed, experienced guide. I learned that beside history and arts my guests are also interested in our everyday life so I always try to give them a real picture about Hungary. I was educated during the communist period having a lot of memories about the fall of the regime. I am a mother of two teenager boys and I have been living in Budapest for 25 years.

My City and Country - Budapest is called ’Queen of the Danube’. How true. She has so many faces, interesting stories, secrets. Her treasure is very rich: The Parliament and the Dohány street Synagogue are one of the largest ones in the world. Matthias Church, Opera House, Heroes’ Square, Turkish bathsart-nouveau buildings are all masterpieces of the European culture. There are plenty of other capital cities built on the banks of a river but such a wide and majestic river, as is the Danube at Budapest, is more of a rarity.
Hungary is over 1,100 years. Just outside Budapest my favorite places are Sissi’s Palace in Gödöllő, the Danube Bend with Esztergom, Visegrád and Szentendre. Hungary boasts of 9 World Heritage Sites, historical Baroque towns like Eger, Győr, Sopron, Veszprem, the beautiful Lake Balaton and the second largest hot-water lake in the world, Hévíz. All of them are worth visiting!
Come and share our pleasure how the country is getting to be reborn after the very troublesome 20th century. You will see that Hungary is truly cultured, truly European and I also believe that it preserved its cultural and folk heritage better than many other countries, where developement has swept the past away.

Latest Customer's Opinions:
Budapest is now one of our favourite places to visit thanks to Gabriella. In October 2019, Gabby brought the city to life for us, sharing history, culture and more through her expert and skilled personal interpretation. We enjoyed an excellent orientation tour by car on our first afternoon (with well planned stops to stretch our legs and sight see) and a truly fabulous walking tour the next morning. We highly recommend her.
