Dubrovnik is a real pearl of the Adriatic coast of Croatia. And there’s so much to enjoy in this beautiful little town! This tour will help you learn the beauty and the rich history of Dubrovnik and the surrounding area, which has centuries of intense history in its every stone.

We’ll start our tour after meeting at your hotel or at the docks in case you’re visiting with a cruise ship. First we’ll head to the top of the Srdj hill, located right above Dubrovnik. It is the perfect spot to observe the town and its surrounding area, which is certainly a magnificent view assuming the islands in the sea and the mountains on the coast. After admiring the view for a while we’ll continue exploring the Dubrovnik area by first visiting the town of Cavtat.

Cavtat is located in only 15km outside Dubrovnik and represents a typical Adriatic settlement with its remarkable charm. But don’t let the size of this town confuse you, as it’s much older than many modern cities. The first historical and archeological of this settlement dates back over 3,000 years back, when the Greeks have established their colony in this area. Today, Cavtat is a very pleasant town with beautiful small houses and numerous restaurants where you can enjoy fresh seafood and magnificent Croatian wine. 

After enjoying your lunch, we’ll have some free time and then drive to Dubrovnik. This town was an important trading hub and center of political power for many centuries, especially in medieval times when it was one of the rare cities that could oppose Venice in its struggle for Mediterranean domination. The intense history of this place can be seen in the central part of Dubrovnik, especially its main promenade Stradun, located among the main historic attractions such as the Franciscan Monastery, the Sponza Palace and others.
