Tour: Island Korcula and the second longest wall in the world – town Ston

Every time I have to take this road with visitors or driving all by myself I can't help but enjoy the magnificent view of the coast. The way from Dubrovnik to Ston, settled on the Peljesac peninsula, is really an unforgettable experience because the road follows the coastline and gives you a great view over the islands in one direction and the beautiful mountains on the other. 

Our first stop will be in the beautiful town of Ston, which is renowned for its intact historical sites and beautiful architecture. The importance of this place becomes evident when you see the massive fortifications surrounding the town. Actually, one of the walls connecting Ston with the smaller village of Bay of Mali Ston nearby is considered as the biggestwall on the planet right after the Great Wall of China. The town itself boasts a remarkable medieval architecture, which is even more pleasant taking the surrounding natural beauty into account. Moreover, Ston is famous for its oyster farms, so if you want to enjoy a lunch rich with fresh seafood – this is the perfect place to do it!

Our second stop during the tour will be in Korcula, which is one of the most scenic settlements on the Croatian part of the Adriatic coast and primarily known for being the very place where the famous adventurer Marco Polo was born. As you would expect from a town with such a long history it has many interesting historic sites to offer, such as the old fortifications, St. Mark Cathedral and the Church of Our Lady. There will be some time to walk around the city and buy souvenirs in local tourist shops before going back to Dubrovnik late in the afternoon. 

NOTE FOR CRUISE GUESTS: Keep in mind that this tour is designed for a full day. So, your docking in Dubrovnik should last at least 10 hours in order to book this tour.
